To be honest, I’ve never been a fan of Venus pencils but these are something else. Large diameter core, and it writes like a U.S. No. 1, maybe something like a German 2B or so. I agree about the lettering, plus it’s got a nice coat of lacquer. I thought the ferrule was nice too—rather original-looking in a field of copycats.

The lead is great, but the ferrule is even better! Did you polish it to be that shiny?

I agree! I love that ferrule! Like Sean, I”m not a huge Venus pencil fan. I’ve never been much for that crackly alligator-y design on the barrel. But yeah, that ferrule! It looks like an old deco locomotive or something. 😀
